Raw Particleboards
Raw particleboard is regarded as an all-round talent among base and construction materials and is therefore also used in the area of interior design (for example panelling walls and ceilings).
Melamine-Faced Chipboards (MFC)
If a particleboard is coated using decorative paper previously dipped in melamine resin, it is referred to as melamine-faced particleboard. The furniture industry uses these boards in applications that are not subject to excessively heavy loads such as kitchen cabinet fronts or shelving, for example.
Floor Panels
Floor panels often serve as under-floor for carpets or other flooring materials. Gluing the tongue and groove connection provides a practically joint-free surface.
Medium-Density Fiberboards (MDF)
Instead of woodchips used in particleboard, wood fibers are used in the production of MDF. This makes the board very homogeneous, giving it a very smooth surface.
Multi-Function Panels (MFP)
Multi-functional panels comprise consistently long and slim-pressed chips which are scattered randomly and glued using high-quality melamine-reinforced urea resins.

The range of decors for the „Designers´ Collection” has been developed of Thermopal, a subsidiary of Pfleiderer, for the interior accessories in hotels, shops as well as in wellness and leisure centers. The designs, which are allocated with the “red dot design award”, inspire customers for example in a children medical practice.

Subsidiaries of Pfleiderer AG fitted up the car dealership of Volkswagen. From Duropal comes the award-winning high-pressure laminate “HPL-SolidColor”, wodego delivers the decorative panel and the laminate flooring completes the current design concept of the car builder.

Production of Particleboards
The particleboard plant at our Neumarkt site produces around 870,000 m³ per year. The company’s own power plant covers our electricity and heating requirements.

Rotary drum dryers use indirect heat to dry the wood chips at approximately 180 °C until they contain only 2 percent residual moisture.

Chips and glue are mixed and form a so-called “chip cake”. At 250 °C and under high pressure, a press ensures the required composition.

This continuous-action double belt press is 43 meters long and operates at a pressure of up to 300 N/cm2.

After pressing, the particleboard is cooled from 110 °C to approximately 60 °C in a star cooler.

High-pressure laminate consists of several layers of core and decorative paper. The paper layers are impregnated with phenol and melamine resins and then compressed under heat.

A laminate floor has to be able to cope with quite a lot of impact during its lifetime. And to make sure it keeps its good looks and isn´t marked by scratches or discoloration, our production facilities take the greatest care and use state-of-the-art technology.

After a machine has pressed the different layers together, the laminate floor is taken to a milling machine. There the boards are cut to panels as required for installation.
