Commitment

We are aware of our social responsibility – not only towards our employees, but also towards the state and society. This is why we support numerous social projects through actions within and outside the Pfleiderer Group. We would like to present some of them to you here.

The Neumarkt Run

We are regularly one of the main sponsors of the Neumarkt Run at our headquarters in Neumarkt and encourage our employees to participate. We appreciate the charitable idea behind the event: The money raised benefits the German Bone Marrow Donor Database (DKMS), allowing it to include details of additional potential donors of bone marrow and stem cells. By expanding the database as much as possible, DKMS is able to help people who suffer from leukemia or other life-threatening blood-related illnesses.

Youth Research

For fifteen years now, we have been supporting the local Youth Research competition in the Oberpfalz region. Right from the beginning, we have also given our apprentices the opportunity to participate in the competition. In this way, some very practical ideas flow into the competition from the young people’s working environment. The job starters learn how to develop projects independently from the original idea through to the practical implementation – this encourages important interdisciplinary key qualifications such as team spirit, decision-making skills and responsibility, which are so important in their future working lives.

The Pfleiderer Group gives the young people space, time and resources to implement their ideas – and is delighted by the great success of the developments: In 2008, our apprentices won the Youth Research federal price with their “Thread Master.” With the help of this invention, it is possible for the first time to cut threads absolutely straight also in places that are difficult to access.

Trainees’ social project

All management trainees at Pfleiderer AG carry out a social project during their 18-month course of training after graduating from university, the Internal Junior Consulting Program. The junior executives act independently with full responsibility for the selection of the project and its organization and realization.

In this way, we achieve two things: We support a social organization or initiative and make a contribution to the benefit of society in line with our corporate responsibility. At the same time, we promote team spirit and our trainees’ organizational competence. By working in projects, the junior executives get to know some important project-management techniques and gain soft skills such as team and motivational capabilities. Along with their specialist knowledge, these are valuable qualifications for career success.
